Chuan has more than 25 years of investment experience and track record of success in the global venture capital industry. Prior to AlphaX, he was the founder of Highland China (Shanghai) and a general partner of Highland Capital Partners (Boston, MA) since 2005. Before that, Chuan was a partner at JAFCO America Ventures (Palo Alto, CA) and JAFCO (Tokyo).

Chuan has backed a number of successful companies include Qi An Xin(A-Share IPO), Qihoo 360 (NYSEC & A-Share IPO), Tuniu (Nasdaq IPO), TuanChe (Nasdaq IPO), 6Rooms (acquisition), NetentSec (acquisition), Yunji Technology, PPIO, Rossum Robot, and Thor Group. 

As a successful entrepreneur and reputable product executive with more than 18 years of experience building billion-dollar technology companies, Guangdong is excited about investing in early stage companies and helping entrepreneurs build great companies.

Prior to AlphaX, Guandong was a senior executive vice president of Qihoo360, China’s Internet security firm with $28 billion of market capital. He played multiple of senior roles, including product development, marketing and monetization at Qihoo 360. The products released by Guandong, including 360Navigation, 360Search and 360Mobile, are used by over 500 million users today.

Guangdong’s investments include Qi An Xin, Gaosi Education, PMCAFF, Fugu Network, Wonder Power, Joyrun, and MediaV (acquired). He was named "2018 Outstanding Investor under 40" at the 2018 Global Young Entrepreneur Conference.

Yaping started his venture investment career in 2006. Prior to AlphaX, Yaping was a senior investmentor of Highland China and Keytone Ventures. In 2010, he worked at Baidu’s investment group, where he participated in Baidu's $300M strategic investment in Qunar.com and the venture investment in Anjuke (acquisition). Yaping assisted JD.COM, 58.COM and Homelink in closing their early-stage rounds of financing when he was an investment banker at The Hina Group.

Yaping's investments include Qunar.com (Nasdaq IPO), Tuanche.com (Nasdaq IPO), Hylink (A-Share IPO), Anjuke (acquisition), 7K7K, Microcloud AI, Cobot, Kilakila, Dajianhui, and Movie Hotel. He was named Forbes China's "2018 Top 100 Best Venture Capitalist.”
